JM-L is an electronic discussion list devoted to the works and life of the
American poet James Merrill (1926-1995). It was created in September 1997
by Timothy Materer at the University of Missouri-Columbia
. The list is unmoderated and open to all
readers of Merrill--poets, scholars, students, and fans. Its purpose is to
provide an open forum for conversation about any aspect of Merrill's poems
