BEAT-L (A BEAT GENERATION LISTSERV)
What is it?
BEAT-L is an online discussion forum devoted to the study of the
lives and works of the writers of the Beat Generation, especially
Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and William Burroughs. In addition
to serving as an outlet for discussion, BEAT-L is intended to
facilitate scholarly communication and to serve as a bulletin
board or calendar for poetry readings, announcements of new
publications, upcoming conferences, and related events.
How can I participate?
BEAT-L is open to anyone interested in the Beat Generation.
Scholars, writers, students, laymen -- all are welcome to join in
the discussion and to exchange ideas. To sign on to BEAT-L,
simply send an e-mail message to listserv@cunyvm.bitnet or
listserv@cunyvm.cuny.edu. Leave the subject line blank. In the
body of your mail type: "subscribe BEAT-L" your first name
your last name . (Do not include the quotation marks, the
square brackets, or the period!) After joining the list, you
will receive an acknowledgment, a welcome note, and some
information on basic listserv commands.
