We hope you enjoy your visit to Rutgers University! From New Jersey Turnpike (North or South)
- Take exit 15W (West) to route 280.
- Continue past the first exit 15 (marked Newark-Belleville) to the second exit 15,
marked "King Blvd."
- At bottom of the exit ramp, turn left, following sign for King Blvd.
- At stop sign turn left onto king Blvd.
- Take a left on Central Ave. and then right on University Avenue. The Law School is
on your left as you pass through the center of the campus. Take a left at Warren and a right on University to arrive at its front entrance.
From Garden State Parkway (North or South)
- Take exit 145 to Route 280 toward Newark-Harrison.
- As you come off of the exit ramp, bear right and follow signs for Route 280 East,
Newark-Harrison.
- Once on Route 280, stay in the right lane.
- Follow signs for Harrison.
- Continue until King Blvd., exit 14A.
- Take exit to bottom of ramp and turn right onto King Blvd.
- Take a left on Central Ave. and then right on University Avenue. The Law School is
on your left as you pass through the center of the campus. Take a left at Warren and a right on University to arrive at its front entrance.
From Route 280
From Route 24/78
- Take Garden State Parkway North.
- Take exit 145 to Route 280 toward Newark-Harrison.
- As you come off of the exit ramp, bear right and follow signs for Route 280 East,
Newark-Harrison.
- Once on Route 280, stay in the right lane.
- Follow signs for Harrison.
- Continue until King Blvd., exit 14A.
- Take exit to bottom of ramp and turn right onto King Blvd.
- Take a left on Central Ave. and then right on University Avenue. The Law School is
on your left as you pass through the center of the campus. Take a left at Warren and a right on University to arrive at its front entrance.
From Route 21
- Route 21 becomes McCarter Highway in Newark.
Route 21 North
- At junction of McCarter Highway and Raymod Blvd., you will see the Don Pepe
restaurant ahead on your right.
- Turn left onto Raymond Boulevard.
- Continue on Raymond Boulevard to the Washington Street intersection.
- Turn right on Washington Street, and immediately move to the left hand lane.
- Follow Washington St. until the law school on the left.
Route 21 South
- Make right turn on Clay Street to traffic light.
- Turn left and stay in right lane to next light.
- Bear right where road splits.
- This is University Avenue. Take a left on Warren and a left on University to pass
the Law School
From the Holland Tunnel
- Take Route 1 & 9 South (Pulaski Skyway); five miles from tunnel take exit
to "Newark and the Oranges" onto Raymond Boulevard.
- Follow this past Penn Station (two miles) and turn right on Washington Street
(four miles past McCarter Highway).
From the Lincoln Tunnel
- Follow signs to New Jersey Turnpike.
- From the NJ Turnpike:
- Take exit 15W (West) to route 280.

Rail
- From Harrison, Jersey City, Hoboken, NYC:
- PATH to Penn Station, Newark
- From NYC and South:
- Amtrak or New Jersey Transit to Penn Station, Newark OR to Broad Street,
Newark. Trains leave Penn Station in New York City 3 times between 30 and 40 minutes (32, 37, and 40) past the hour on Saturday and Sunday,
and take 15 minutes to get to Newark.
- PATH train leaving every 15 minutes from the World Trade Center for Newark
Penn Station. 20 minute ride.
- From suburban Essex and Morris Counties:
- New Jersey Transit to Broad Street Station, Newark
Buses
- New Jersey Transit Bus Routes serve Union, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Bergen and
Hudson Counties, as well as NYC, to Newark.
From NEWARK Penn Station, take the Subway 2 stops:
Newark Subway
- Service runs between Penn Station, Newark, and Belleville border
- The Subway makes 11 stops; Washington Street Station is 3 blocks from Campus
and the Law School.
