Workshop Schedule
Spring 2005

All sessions will be held in the Electronic Classroom on the Lower Level of Dana Library, unless otherwise indicated. Everyone is welcome to attend the sessions, except for those offered to faculty members only. The workshops are free of charge. For registration, please send e-mail (preferred) to Dana Library danalib@newark.rutgers.edu or call (973) 353-5901. Be sure to include your name, status and email if any, and specify the workshop and date preferred. There is no limit to the number of workshops you may attend. This workshop schedule is updated throughout the semester.

When Google Isn't Enough... (Instructor: Roberta Tipton)
Improve online searching skills while learning about quality resources the Rutgers University Libraries system has to offer. Learn about Boolean, keywords, stop words, and Web search engines as well as over 180 Rutgers electronic indexes and databases.

Science Direct (Instructor: from Elsevier) Multidisciplinary
ScienceDirect is a full text journal package and database that provides access by journal title or subject searching to more than 3 million articles in journals published by Elsevier Science, Academic Press, and other science publishers and societies. Non-science titles from these publishers, including business, economics, and humanities content, are also included.

Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA) (Instructor: from CSA) Multidisciplinary
Rutgers subscribes to over 20 CSA indexing and abstracting services, including: Agricultural and Environmental Biotechnology Abstracts, Water Resources Abstracts, Artbibliographies Modern, Environmental Sciences & Pollution Management, Health & Safety Sciences Abstracts, Human Population & Natural Resource Management, LLBA, Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts, and others. Save time and get better results by learning the techniques expert searchers use.

Finding Legal Materials Online When You're Not a Lawyer (Instructor: Rebecca Pressman)
Legal materials can be useful for research papers in business, sociology, public administration, and criminal justice. This workshop will describe different types of legal materials and then explain where and how to find them.
