NGO's for the Protection of Colombia's Rainforest
My paper will concentrate on the role of NGO's in the sustainable development of Colombia's Rainforests. NGO's as a political and social actors have had such an influence on national policy. Therefore, I will try to present the different types of non-governmental organizations involved and their efforts to protect the countries' forest resources. Has their participation increased national awareness and to what extent have NGO's promoted global environmental awareness?
I will try to discuss further the way they have impacted sustainable development in Colombia's environment crusade in the shadows of the tumultuous political and social situation. What are the impediments that NGO's face in their fight for the sustainable environment when dealing with the forestry issue? This is one of Colombia's most valuable resource which has been exploited for years. Will the future hold more promising with emerging globalization?
