In this paper I attempt to outline the major issues involved in sweatshop labour with the goal of demonstrating that this is a complex situation that requires far more than a simple "shut them down" or "let them be" answer. My discussion will begin with an overview of the phenomenon, explaining exactly why it is a problem. Then I will focus on the combination of forces -consumers, businesses and governments - that play into the creation of sweatshop labour, followed by my conclusions as to whether monstrous working conditions are an endless problem or show signs of improving.
