- January 14 - The collaborations of
pianist Harold Danko and tenor saxophonist Rich Perry - hosted by Bill
Kirchner.
- January 21 - You Get More Bounce With
Curtis Counce: Host Vincent Pelote plays recordings by this West Coast
hard bop group led by bassist Counce.
- January 28 - Blues Stompin’ with
Hal "Cornbread" Singer: Host John Clement plays recordings by
this soulful tenor saxophonist.
- February 4 - Faz’s Jazz:
New Oleans clarinetist Irving Fazola had one of the prettiest sounds on
his horn as host Dan Morgenstern will demonstrate with recordings Faz made
with Bob Crosby and others.
- February 11 - Jazz For Lovers: Host
April Grier delivers a St. Valentine’s Day show with a jazz theme.
- February 18 - Hancock on the Side:
Host Bill Kirchner examines the 1960s recordings that feature pianist Herbie
Hancock as a sideman.

Host John Clement salutes Tiny Grimes, an important electric guitarist
who made numerous sessions as sideman and leader of his own Rockin’ Highlanders

- March 25 - The Divine One!: Tad Hershorn
plays the music of vocalist Sarah Vaughan.
- April 1 - An Interview with Anat
Cohen: Host Dan Morgenstern speaks to this remarkable clarinetist/saxophonist
and plays selections from her new CDs.
- April 8 - Mary Lou Williams on Circle: – Peter
O’Brien and Vincent Pelote play recordings from the early 50s that
Ms. Williams made for the Circle label.
- April 15 - Pianist Armen Donelian,
who has recorded with artists as diverse as Mongo Santamaria, Chet Baker,
and Billy Harper, is showcased by host Bill Kirchner.

- May 6 - Remembering Kenny Davern:
The great clarinetist and sometime soprano saxophonist's death on December
14, 2006 leaves a big gap, but his music is here to stay, says host (and

- May 13 - Jimmy Rowles Goes To The Movies:
Host Tad Hershorn surveys music played by the pianist originally written
for the movies.
- May 20 - Joyous Encounter: The recorded
collaborations of saxophonist Joe Lovano and pianist Hank Jones. – hosted

- May 27 - Tiny’s Tempo, Part
3: Host John Clement continues his salute to Tiny Grimes, this important
giant of the 4-string electric guitar.

Host Bill Kirchner plays the music of Marcus Strickland, John Ellis, and
Robert MacGregor.

The Decades: Host Ed Berger surveys Carter’s extraordinary and prolific
career.
- August 12 - Benny Carter As Multi-Instrumentalist:
Host Dan Morgenstern showcases Carter on alto sax, tenor sax, soprano sax,
trombone, trumpet, and clarinet.
- August 19 - Benny’s Tunes: Host Bill
Kirchner plays the compositions of Benny Carter played by others.
- August 26 - Benny Carter in Europe: Host Vincent
Pelote plays the recordings Carter made while in Europe from 1936 to 1938.
- September 2 - The Young Billie
Holiday 1933-1940 Pt. 1: Join host Loren Schoenberg for a listen to the
earliest Holiday recordings, which are full of joy and humor, aided and
abetted by Teddy Wilson, Benny Goodman, Roy Eldridge and friends.
- September 9 - Remembering Dick Wellstood: It's
been 20 years since we lost the great pianist, who excelled at, but was

- October 28 -Harry James: The MGM Years: Host
Bill Kirchner illuminates big band recordings the phenomenal trumpeter
made for the MGM label between 1959 - 1964.
- November 4 - Trombone Summit:
