Old Business

New Jersey Administrative Code
Sue Lyons reported that the New Jersey Law Librarians Association (NJLLA), the New Jersey Library Association (NJLA), and DANJ have jointly agreed to lobby for free Internet access to the Administrative Code, and are seeking the support of the State Bar Association in this petition. The State Bar Association will meet later in June and will consider this issue.

Core List The Chair distributed a final version of the Core List of New Jersey documents, with the addition of the suggested items from the last meeting: Web addresses were included for titles with electronic equivalents and a table of contents page was added. Wen-Hua suggested adding the library or college/university affiliation to the list of contributing members. The Chair will convert the word-processed document to HTML. Wen-Hua will then post the core list to DANJ's homepage. The Chair will mail one copy to Bob Lupp and ask about distribution with the depository shipments. It was agreed to look into printing multiple copies for distribution to all New Jersey depository libraries and to DANJ members.

State Document and Internet Site of the Year Awards
The Chair distributed a draft copy of the nomination forms for both awards. They are essentially the same as last year's forms except for the dates. The list of previous awards was also updated. A draft of the letter that is mailed to State depository libraries with the forms was also distributed. The date of the conference, November 3, 2000, was confirmed. A suggestion was made to include a DANJ membership form in the mailing. Geetali will email an updated membership form to the Chair.

Processing guidelines for New Jersey depository shipments
Copies of the following were distributed:

Members shared their methods of handling the three types of documents included in the shipments: monographs, annuals, and serials. This topic will be continued at the next meeting. Bob Lupp will be invited to attend the October meeting when there will be no FDIG meeting. The SDIG meeting could then be held from 10:00 a.m. until noon and allow more time for discussion with Bob Lupp.

The next meeting will be held on August 4, at the usual time, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The location will be the same as the DANJ Executive Board meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Susan Sabatino
