The agenda was approved with the addition of one item under New Business: Sue Lyons asked to discuss access to the New Jersey Register and the Administrative Code.

Core List
The Chair distributed a final version of the Core List of New Jersey documents. In general, it looked very good and the title page was fine. It was recommended to check each title against the State's homepage and Bob Lupp's list, just to double check that all URLs are included for titles with electronic equivalents. It was further suggested to add a list of departments represented and possibly a table of contents page. Wen-Hua suggested sending the document to ERIC, and the Chair offered to ask if ERIC would include this type of publication. The Chair offered to print a few copies at William Paterson University's library, and to convert the word-processed document to HTML. Wen-Hua will then post the core list to DANJ's homepage.

SDIG Items for the DANJ Archives
The Chair reviewed the items collected for the DANJ archives. The folder included SDIG meeting agendas and minutes, and all correspondence related to the State Document and Internet Site of the Year Awards and copies of the awards. Also included were copies of the nomination forms and a list of the nominations received for both awards.

Notable Documents of 1999
Following the recommendation at the last SDIG meeting, the Chair compiled a list of "Notable Documents of 1999." The titles on this list are primarily the remaining titles from the documents nominated for the State Document of the Year Award. The Chair added two additional titles.

Plans for a meeting to discuss processing guidelines
The members decided that a review of processing guidelines would be a good topic for a future meeting. It was decided to devote the June meeting to this topic, since the Chair will not be able to attend the April meeting. The Chair will also let Bob Lupp know about his upcoming meeting to see if he has anything to add.

New Jersey Register and the Administrative Code
Sue Lyons reported that she attended a meeting of the New Jersey Law Librarians Association (NJLLA) who asked that the New Jersey Register and the Administrative Code be made available on the web. Sue asked the members about access to these publications. The New Jersey Register is distributed free of charge to libraries in the state's depository system, but the Administrative Code is published by West Publishing and is not free. Unless the New Jersey Legislature enacts a law that requires that these publications be posted on the web, it is unlikely that they will be made available in this way in the near future. NJLLA is interested in forming a joint committee of NJ library groups to lobby for free Internet access to the Register and Administrative Code, and that is something DANJ may want to participate in.

The next meeting will be held on June 2, at the usual time, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The location will be the same as the DANJ Executive Board meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 1:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Susan Sabatino
