The Documents Association of New Jersey created an annual award to be given to
the student who creates the "best" project in the Government Documents class
each fall. "Best" is judged by Dr. Patricia Reeling, the instructor, with
input from the DANJ Board of Directors. Some of the factors considered are
intellectual content, organization, and usefulness to the profession. The
prize, awarded at Commencement, is $300.
Frances Housten was the first winner of the prize, presented at Commencement
2001. Her project was "The Lindbergh Kidnapping: A Guide." In 2002, Meagan
O'Malley won for her project on "Vaccine Law and Policy: A Question of
'Compulsory Safety.'"
The award will be offered again to the class of Fall 2002.
